XBMC Frodo 12.1 & More!

After a month of hard work, the XBMC team released a new version of Frodo. We are happy to bring this new XBMC release to XBian together with some new features. Some nice improvements to video playback thanks to Dom, dual audio support and even initial Wiimote support. The complete changelog and installation instructions can be found behind the ‘read more’.

XBian 1.0 Alpha 5, out now!

[no_toc][/no_toc]After two months of massive coding, we bring you the fifth alpha version of XBian 1.0!

From the development point of view XBian 1.0 Alpha 5 took the most man hours (we’re awaiting feminine team members). We’ve completely rewritten xbian-config and created a custom implementation for an animated splash. We also welcomed a new team member specialized in python under the name of belese (and sadly had to say goodbye to Hexagon). Belese worked hard on a xbian-config port inside XBMC. XBian can now be fully customized inside XBMC (currently only supported under the Confluence skin). Last but not least, we’ve finally included XBMC v12 final. A lot of improvements in both the Raspberry Pi firmware and the XBMC software make Alpha 5 notably faster than Alpha 4.

All questions, bugs or fixes can again be posted on our forum, you can also come celebrate with us in our IRC-channel.

XBian 1.0 Alpha 4

XBian 1.0 Alpha 4

[no_toc][/no_toc]Today we bring you a New Year present: the fourth version of XBian 1.0!

This version has better support for remotes, XBMC v12 Frodo – RC1 (as RC2 is bugged upstream), and of course the latest kernel. Needless to say we’ve killed some bugs along the way driving our development-sleight. First reports are this Alpha is lightning fast! We will celebrate this release worldwide with enormous amounts of fireworks :D

All questions, bugs or fixes can again be posted in our dedicated XBian 1.0 Alpha 4 topic, bugfixes can be found here or come celebrate with us in our IRC-channel.

Happy New Year!

XBian 1.0 Alpha 3

XBian 1.0 Alpha 3

We have released the third Alpha-version of Xbian 1.0! It contains some new important features. For example:  We’ve set-up a custom apt repository for installing updates and packages. Updating XBian is now as easy as updating debian packages. Just run apt-get upgrade.

We’ve also added the first beta of XBMC v12 – Frodo!
